About
Akumal Pueblo, the real Akumal. Located on the hill on the west side of Highway #307, Akumal Pueblo is home to most of the local Mexicans who work in the villas and resorts. There are several places selling wonderful, authentic Mexican tamales, empanadas and assorted Yucatan dishes at unbelievably cheap prices. In addition to the eateries there is a pharmacy, superette, hardware store, tortilla factory, produce store, elementary school, public park and police station.
